Of the Ode and the Odd

L has been writing poems lately. I'm firmly convinced she's destined for greatness. Here's a sample of what your great-great-grandchildren will be memorizing in their college English Lit classes. (I think there's definitely some e e cummings influence in there somewhere.)

Pome:  What Happens in the Night

Dark at night the Stars Shine
and when I think of fright I look at the moon.
It looks like a broom lesen [listen] to the dark!
Let the Dogs bark!  lesen lesen to the Dark!

Look it the moon and broom!
You think of the moon!  tell the moon, "You look like the broom"
but a littel Doom crossed His Face!!!

The Monky

The Monkys Loves Bananas.!  Not This One.
This monky Loves Naps and Caps
he will only were two hats.
Who whooo said and owl.
Nobody said the monky.
What what said the owl
OK OK said the monky...
...Stop Stop yelled the monky and the owl left with a hat on top of his head!
and the monkey [sic] Never saw the owl again.

The end
