Kings for a Day

Last Saturday Stacy and the kids got the royal treatment.  Poppa, whose name, as far a N is concerned, has for some reason now morphed to "Pops", managed to score some Kings tickets fit for a monarchist. These weren't just good seats with adequate oxygen levels - these were front-row seats, right up against the glass, just feet from the goalie! The kind of seats where you share in the players' blood, sweat and tears on a much more literal level.

Flat N got in without a ticket!

It ended up being a royal game too.  The Kings blew out the Florida Panthers 4-0 and during the game N's reigning hero, Jonathan Quick, made the record books by eclipsing Rogie Vachon and becoming the winningest goalie in Kings history.  Not too shabby a day!  Stacy, L and N were all a glow all day afterwards.   L and N, having never been to a game, assumed things must always be this good.  I wish them and their future expectations well.

The tension mounts...

SCORE!!!

They even made it on TV!

Regis victoribus!

As for me?  Not quite as spectacular.  I got to spend the Saturday at work fighting fires.

For eight hours...

And it was my birthday...

Not that I'm bitter or anything...

But hey, you can't really have kings without paupers.
