N came up to me this morning: "Daddy, why do dogs bury bones in the ground?"
I immediately launched into a treatise on territorialism, the self-preservation instinct and the canine hoarding response stemming from a hunt-pack mentality.
N stared blankly at me for a moment, rolled his eyes and said, "It's because they can't bury them in trees. It's a joke, Dad. Sheesh!"
